How Vehicle Wraps Work for Las Vegas Trade Shows and Conventions
A trade show wrap is a regular wrap that stays on for a few days. We install it, the show runs, and we remove it afterward. A full wrap comes off in one to two hours. In Las Vegas, we can turn a wrap around in 24 to 48 hours.
This guide answers the six questions to settle before you order. For everything else we do in the city, see Las Vegas.
Can a vehicle be wrapped for just a few days?
Yes. A short-term wrap is a standard wrap kept on for a few days instead of years. We do not use a different brand or product for it. Most often, we use Avery Dennison MPI 1105 cast vinyl.
A standard wrap is built to stay. It typically lasts five to seven years, with a 5-year product warranty and a 1-year installation warranty. A short-term wrap uses the same film and comes off after your event. For the long-life side of the comparison, see How Long Does a Vehicle Wrap Actually Last?
How long does it take to produce and install, and how far ahead should an exhibitor order?
In Las Vegas, we can turn a short-term wrap around in 24 to 48 hours. Order as soon as you have your vehicle details and artwork, because tight turnarounds carry a rush fee and an earlier order gives you more control over cost.
Here is what sets the timeline:
- Printing: Our Las Vegas location is bringing printing on-site. Once that is running, same-day turnaround is possible.
- Rush fees: We quote them on request, based on our current schedule and workload.
- Artwork: Print-ready art that only needs resizing moves very fast. A design we create takes longer.
- Install location: We install at our facility or at another suitable indoor location. That can include a trade show floor or, depending on the heat, a hotel parking garage. Las Vegas summer heat can pass 115°F, and vinyl installs best when surfaces are between about 60 and 90°F, so indoor space matters.
What material is used, and how does it come off?
A short-term wrap uses the same film as our standard wraps: most often Avery Dennison MPI 1105 cast vinyl. It comes off with controlled heat and a slow, even peel. A full wrap takes one to two hours to remove.
Some short-term graphics are printed on cheaper calendered film. Calendered film suits flat surfaces and pulls back on curves. We use cast film.
We do the removal ourselves. Removal is priced separately, and we quote it up front. Film that is only days old has not had time to age, and aged film is harder to remove.
On healthy factory paint, a wrap protects the paint underneath, and proper removal won't damage it. Paint condition is the deciding factor. Chips down to bare metal, active rust, peeling clear coat, and a repaint that has not finished curing are the problems to flag. Fresh paint needs three to four weeks to cure before it can be wrapped. We check paint condition before every quote. For the full paint answer, see Does Wrapping a Vehicle Damage the Paint?
How does the cost compare with a standard wrap?
The base cost of a short-term wrap is the same as a standard wrap on the same vehicle with the same coverage. Rush fees multiply that base cost, and removal is priced separately. A shorter time on the vehicle does not lower the price.
Partial wraps start at $1,900, and full wraps cost more. For planning ranges by vehicle type, see How Much Does It Cost to Wrap a Vehicle?
Rush fees depend on our current schedule and workload, and we quote them on request. We quote removal up front. The full cost is the wrap, any rush fee, and removal.
Which vehicles can be wrapped?
We can wrap any vehicle, including demo vehicles, rental fleets, and trailers. One vehicle or several can go in the same project.
Exhibitors often ship a demo vehicle or a fleet of rental cars into Las Vegas for a show. They can wrap them all for the event, and the wrap comes off afterward.
The standard warranty still applies to a short-term wrap: 5 years on the product and 1 year on the installation. For a wrap that stays on for days, it is probably unnecessary.
What does a design need to get started, and what can be rushed?
We need the vehicle's year, make, and model, and a complete design. With print-ready art that only needs resizing, we can move very fast.
The year, make, and model tell us which vehicle template to use. Print-ready art means final artwork that only needs resizing to fit the vehicle.
What can and cannot be rushed:
- Production and installation can be rushed, for a rush fee.
- Design from scratch cannot. A rush on a design we create is probably impossible.
With show dates close, start with the art. Send us the vehicle details, the design, your dates, and where the vehicle will be.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need permission to wrap a rental or leased vehicle?
Check your agreement first. Rental and lease contracts often require written approval before any exterior changes, and they expect you to remove the wrap before you return the vehicle. We can wrap any vehicle. Getting the owner's approval is your step, so ask in writing.
Can I drive the vehicle right after installation?
Our general guidance is to let a new wrap settle for about 48 hours before driving, washing, or exposing it to extreme temperatures. Tell us when the vehicle has to move so we can plan the install around it. Once we install on site, the vehicle can stay put with the wrap on.
Can I wash a wrapped vehicle during the show?
Yes, gently. Hand-wash with mild soap and low-pressure water. Keep pressure washers and automatic brush washes away from the wrap. Wipe off bird droppings, tree sap, and bug splatter within a day or two.
How do I get a quote?
Call 702-997-6525, email Sales@QueenOfWraps.com, or use the quote form. Give us the vehicle year, make, and model, your show dates, and the status of your art (print-ready or needs design).
The Bottom Line
A trade show wrap is the same film as our standard wrap, kept on for days. A full wrap comes off in one to two hours, and in Las Vegas we can turn a wrap around in 24 to 48 hours. The base price matches a standard wrap, and rush fees and removal are added on top. We quote both.
Your artwork decides the speed. Print-ready files move fast, and a design we create from scratch takes longer.
